"A certain LinkedIn member’s page is claiming to employ 80 people who are actually employees of a separate company not connected to him, at all. I have asked him about this, and he claims LinkedIn causes it. Is there any way LinkedIn could accidentally put false information on a person’s LinkedIn page? Has this ever happened?"

"Thanks for reaching out to us through LinkedIn Forums. This is a follow up email regarding your issue with.
I would like to inform you that all the information that you see on any member's profile comes from that member and not by LinkedIn.
When LinkedIn members add or edit a position on their profile, they specify their company. If they select a company from our list, they automatically show up on that organization's Company Page.
If someone accidentally selects the wrong company name from the list, their profile will be associated with the wrong Company Page. electronically."
