Lenz Meditation events are likely to have music -- "vibes"

If you go to a free meditation event, amuse yourself and see if music by Frederick Lenz, aka Zen Master Rama is used, and see if you are encouraged to listen to it and purchase it.

The tip off that someone is into Lenz or a meditation event or retreat is actually a front for Freddie Lenz is

a) the music - his music or perhaps music composed by his followers according to Lenz' specifications

b) The purpose of the music -- which is to offset negative vibrations and foster the right vibrations for spiritual development. This is NOT genuine Zen, not in the use of music or the purposes of that usage.

Zen meditation virtually never includes music unless in the form of traditional liturgies and chants.

Lenz demanded total control over his followers. As a result Lenzians who teach "Buddhism" eventually show their hand by using his methods and materials - one of them being music.

Lenz used music in a particular way - his music. Music and reasons for using that music may help you identify whether a mediatation event is tied to Lenz or a friend is a follower of Frederick Lenz.

Lenz loyalists worship the guy and continue to use his music.

While meditating, his followers usually listen to music that he has
created with his band Zazen. The music is not required, but they all
started out using it and now seem to be hooked. It's very soothing
