I'm very interested in the history of Chris Butler's downgrading of his claim of "Jagad Guru - the one and only guru of the universe"
Vera City wrote, "At this time Butler downgraded his claim of Jagad Guru ~ the one and only guru of the universe ~ to an idea that there are many pure devotees, acharyas and lineages."
It would be great if we could get quotations or other evidence that Butler claimed at one time that he was "the one and only guru of the universe" and that he now claims that "he simply moved from being a Siksha guru to a Diksha guru."
It would be very useful if we could actually establish the above as facts and, if possible, the timeline.
Also, because I don’t have a copy of the Haribol Special, and I'm sure very few people do, it would be useful if you could also provide any quotations from that publication where Butler proclaimed himself to be AC Bhaktivedanta's successor."
One other point. I have been told by several people that sometimes Bhaktivedanta Swami also accepted having his feet washed by his disciples, water distributed, etc. One person who told me this gave me a picture of Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami's feet after having been washed, now adorned with flowers.
