I worked for a Son-Rise family for almost two years. There are definitely cultish elements about the philosophy, for sure. The language is an argot unique to them and is extremely controlled; if you are deemed to have said something "negative" or pessimistic you will be reprimanded, and made to feel that the autistic child will pick up on your negativity and be dragged down as a result (even if you are not saying something in front of the child). This fosters an atmosphere of repression among employees: of course no one would ever want to hurt a child, but at the same time, then, employees don't feel free to bring up legitimate concerns about the job or the child's progress.

The most unsettling thing that I experienced during my time with this family was something with a former employee of the Institute––I forget the exact name of the procedure, but it was a back-and-forth "dialogue" (word in quotes for a reason, which I will explain) designed to help you, the employee, dig deeper and uncover any blocks you might have to truly joining (aka mimicking) the child during sessions and doing so with joy. The dialogue is really just the person in charge––aka the Son-Rise operative––asking you increasingly personal questions that you answer without being able to respond in kind. It's similar in structure to exercises in Transactional Analysis and Scientology's auditing, and it leaves you feeling very upset and vulnerable, or at least it did for me, because I felt backed into a corner, and like I had to reveal private information in order to help the child and keep my job and satisfy this interrogator. I remember being very embarrassed afterward, and I went to the bathroom to cry for a moment. Perhaps had I been older––I was only twenty-three at the time––I would have put my foot down, but I just didn't feel confident enough to do that.

I find much of Kaufman's theories puerile (generally I think radical authenticity is a cover for someone just wanting to be a douche bag in public) and his persona is definitely the same scent as many male spiritual gurus (overly confident and authoritative w/r/t his intelligence, smarmy, Mafia-esque w/r/t his family as "best" employees, self-mythologizing, etc.) Mostly I just felt bad for the family I worked for, because their child was severely autistic and seemed very unlikely to ever be able to live independently (which I think has ultimately proved to be the case) but they were never allowed to grapple with that idea verbally because it was giving in to the negative. They had an enormous amount of money though, so I guess they could just pay to keep a full-time staff to do Son-Rise with their child for the rest of his life, if they wanted to.

To respond directly to LeChat, I think there are some valid points here. There *is* a difference between a simplistic self-help thought process and a cult. With the former, you can just say, "Nope, not for me!" and walk away. I did hear plenty of stories about the Institute in Massachusetts that made it sound shady and unpleasant, but none that sounded outright coercive or aggressive or, like, disdainful of basic human rights. I didn't spend time there so I can't speak to it further. In my circumstances, I was a paid employee for a family who was heavily involved but did not live near the Institute, and while I felt the doctrine was definitely something I had to pretend to totally approve of, at the end of the day, I went home and did and believed what I wanted to.

OI is a destructive cult. Investigate and learn more about cults. Read negative "Glass Door" reviews for OI. Many people leave OI mentally and financially broken. Brain washing and mind control is far more complex than restricting bathroom use. Physical, mental and verbal abuse does occur at OI. If 50 women speak out against Bill Cosby to bring justice, how many have to speak out against OI?

A Note to Eric Allen Bell’s Base

If you want to like Eric Allen Bell, go right ahead.
If you want to love EAB, be my guest.
If you want to give him money, that is your business.
However
Do not get mad at those of us who are not enamored of him.
Do not get mad at people who talk about Eric’s bigotry, or fraudulent escapades.
Do not get mad when we point out his lying.
Do not get mad when we point out his bio reads like the legend of a spy.
Do not get mad when we remark on his cult leader behavior.
Because this is all part of an honest discussion of Eric Allen Bell.

As far as my last post is concerned, I did not call EAB a Nazi. I said he was Alt-Right. Nazi thought influences the Alt-Right. But, I did not call him a Nazi.
In fact, what I said was we do not know what Eric is.
Eric did not catch on in the Alt-Right.
If he did, he might, I say might, have created a social networking site for Alt-Right followers. After all, that is what he did for members of the Counter Jihad Movement. Eric called this social networking site for the Counter Jihad – Global Infidel.

Global Infidel was hosted by Confluence Networks.

Confluence Networks came into the news during the Hillary Clinton e-mails story. It was then that we learned Confluence Networks was a company of “very, very dubious provenance and management”.

How did EAB come to learn about Confluence?
Why did he choose them to host a social networking site for members of the CJM?
Did any personal information given to Eric Allen Bell make it into the possession of Confluence Networks?

Do not expect Eric Allen Bell to answer any of these questions because he is too busy telling us he dindunuffin’.

I am a character reference for Nicole Grace, though I haven't been associated with her for at least a decade. It's just that I came here and see a lot of defamation going on. She and Scott, her bodyguard and longtime companion, got their black belts same place I went to school - at the World Seido Karate HQ in NYC on W 23rd Street. She and Scott in the same class. I was just starting out but they were already blackbelts. That must have been in 1994.

Those who claim that she doesn't know Buddhism are uniformed. She and I both read the Pali Canon and were tested on it around the same time. She has the same knowledge base as I do, and I was ordained as a a zen priest for a number of years in a documented Rinzai Zen Lineage until last year. So she's got teaching level credentials. But what she is doing is blending Buddhism, it's non-dual and also Tibetan mystical forms, with Vedanta, Hinduism, Shamanism --- it's a regular hodgepodge. I studied with her for a number of years after our mutual teacher, Frederick Lenz, died.

The point is that she believes with her whole heart in what she is doing, at least she did the last time I saw here, which was before all this online nastiness began popping up. I can't say the same for Dr. Lenz. I'm just not sure what his deal was. However, he never hurt me, and he changed my life in amazing ways and gave me dimensions I'd never have had otherwise. Changed my karma. I have to say that I have similar mixed feelings about all of my past spiritual teachers and mentors, In the end, they, we, all fall short.

So to the person whose marriage was broken up, and who was a Buddhist, I'm so sorry. All I can guess is that the husband was subconsciously looking for an out. It might have taken the form of an affair, but here, it took form of becoming a big fan. A lot of people like to give perjorative connotations to cults, but in fact, our society is made up of nothing but little cults, and big ones. Perhaps it could be destructive, for someone who is unbalanced, or has no life, or gives away money that doesn't belong to them. But this is a character or issue within the person, not necessarily the teacher.

Having known Ms. Grace for a few decades, as a fellow student, a fellow project manager in technology, a fellow musician, a fellow fluent speaker of French, and a fellow literary persona (we are both published authors and both studied at prestigious places) I know her to be authentically a champion, New York City born and bred, a world class sophisticated person, with, I believe, a somewhat warped view of reality. Other people like to go into that dream with her, for whatever reason. Sometimes, it's a nicer place than current life circumstances.

But I would tend to agree, if it's possible to create a family/social/greater community environment where we were all welcomed warmly as equals and all our gifts were welcomed, despite any peculiarities or weaknesses or differences between us,there wouldn't be a need forthe spiritual and psychological form of first-aid that Ms. Grace provides. It's a short-term patch. Anything that relies on the guru in order to work can only be that.

However, she knows that graduate school in spiritual development means finding the guru within. Internalizing it. I do think that when people reach a certain level of maturity successfully within the order, the do leave, or are 'graduated' out, or move on to teach their own flavor of the religious syncretism. But just as many are probably hurt in some way. So if they are adults, consenting adults, your best hope it to develop fulfilling and mutually beneficial relationships with them so they don't have to seek this kind of thing out.

More bad news for Universal Medicine:

Doctor who gave patient medical history to Universal Medicine 'cult' stands down from AMA

Exclusive by Josh Robertson

Updated Wed 2 May 2018, 7:10am

"A doctor who endorsed an alleged cult and secretly shared a patient's medical history with its leader has stood down from his role representing the Australian Medical Association (AMA).

Dr Sam Kim withdrew from the AMA's Queensland council after an ABC investigation into his second case of professional misconduct in a year relating to his ties to the controversial group Universal Medicine (UM).

UM, a multi-million-dollar enterprise that touts questionable treatments including "esoteric breast massage" and boasts 700 followers, has also drawn criticism for publicly revealing a former client's schizophrenia diagnosis.

In March, the NSW Privacy Commissioner found Dr Kim had violated his patient's privacy by sharing his records with Serge Benhayon, the UM founder who claimed to be the reincarnation of Leonardo Da Vinci.

'Why does he need this information?'

Business owner Riley Martin consulted Dr Kim, a thoracic physician who practises in Brisbane and at UM headquarters in Lismore, for a lung condition in 2010.

Mr Martin had already received "energetic treatments" from Mr Benhayon but had grown sceptical about their value.

He stopped the treatments and later criticised UM in the media, but only learned last year that his medical history had been shared.

Mr Martin said he was surprised to discover the privacy breach when his GP looked up his records.

"Of course I must say at that time I was very shocked," he said.

"I felt very aggrieved that my private medical information had been passed on to Mr Benhayon, who has no medical qualifications whatsoever.
"It raises questions — why does he need to have this information?"

The privacy report said it was "unclear ... why it was necessary for Dr Kim to provide such a summary of what appears to be Mr Martin's entire medical history to Mr Benhayon".

The privacy commissioner did not accept Dr Kim's claim that he had verbal consent to share the records, or that Mr Martin would reasonably expect this after telling Dr Kim about his consultations with Mr Benhayon.

Mr Martin could use the findings to take legal action against Dr Kim but said he would prefer an assurance that other patients' information would not be shared.

Following questions by the ABC, AMA Queensland chairman Dr Shaun Rudd said Dr Kim had "decided to stand down from the council pending resolution of his current situation".

Dr Rudd said the council had "a robust conflict of interest policy and AMA Queensland has full confidence in Dr Kim's ability to serve as a councillor".

Dr Kim was elected last year as a greater Brisbane area representative on the AMA Queensland council, which makes "by-laws about ethical considerations (including handling complaints related to the profession)".

Last May, shortly before his election, a medical professional standards committee of the NSW Medical Council found Dr Kim made "significant ethical errors and failings in respect of proper professional standards" in another case of referring a patient to UM practitioners, including Mr Benhayon.

The professional standards committee found that Dr Kim, who told the patient that "deep-seated grief is a major driving factor in lung disease", failed to disclose his ties to UM to the patient or explain there was "no clinical evidence" its treatments worked.

UQ confirmed Dr Kim also holds an academic title as a senior lecturer.

He is one of three members of UQ's faculty of medicine who have publicly promoted UM, which University of NSW medical educator Professor John Dwyer has called a "cult" that could put its followers' health and wellbeing at risk.

Last month, the ABC revealed UQ had begun an academic misconduct probe into studies by faculty researcher Christoph Schnelle and eight other UM promoters.

Schizophrenia diagnosis published online

In a separate case last month, a former UM client's full name, image and schizophrenia diagnosis were published on a webpage run by UM's "facts team".

It appeared weeks after the man wrote an online blog under a pseudonym in which he criticised Universal Medicine, while being open about his diagnosis.

"I was preparing for a job interview and wanted to know what a possible employer finds when he googles my name," he said.

"Finding UM's article was shocking. My privacy in respect to that diagnosis is very important. I'm worried about not finding a job because of that."
Former Queensland mental health commissioner Lesley van Schoubroeck said it was "entirely inappropriate for any organisation, particularly one purporting to be a health organisation, to publicly reveal identifying information of anyone's diagnosis, be it mental health or physical health".

"It's certainly the case that people with schizophrenia suffer stigma and discrimination in the workplace and in the community," she said.

The UM "facts team", which responds to those who publicly criticise the organisation, includes former legal academic Alison Greig.

Her husband, Brisbane barrister Charles Wilson, was also on the "facts team" until last year, but was not part of it when the man's details were published.

'Fascinating range of individuals attracted to cults'

UM has denied it is a cult, citing the large number of health professionals among its membership.

Eight doctors have publicly endorsed UM, along with four dentists and 17 allied health practitioners across pharmacy, physiotherapy and psychology.

Mr Benhayon encourages followers to adopt strict lifestyle measures around diet, sleep, sex and even books and music.

Dr Kim has written online about consulting Mr Benhayon over the underlying cause of a minor eye condition.

"I felt that there was a deeper meaning to this so I consulted Serge Benhayon who generously offered his Reading (sic)," he said.

Professor Dwyer, a former head of immunology at Yale University, said it was "fascinating just to see the range of individuals who can be attracted to cults and this sort of thinking".

He said health professionals reprimanded in relation to UM had been given "very wishy-washy-type penalties and to date there's evidence that they ... continue to support Universal Medicine".

Mr Wilson declined to comment. Ms Greig and Dr Kim did not respond to the ABC.

Mr Benhayon told the ABC: "I've got nothing to say to you"."

Lenz Meditation events are likely to have music -- "vibes"

$

If you go to a free meditation event, amuse yourself and see if music by Frederick Lenz, aka Zen Master Rama is used, and see if you are encouraged to listen to it and purchase it.

The tip off that someone is into Lenz or a meditation event or retreat is actually a front for Freddie Lenz is

a) the music - his music or perhaps music composed by his followers according to Lenz' specifications

b) The purpose of the music -- which is to offset negative vibrations and foster the right vibrations for spiritual development. This is NOT genuine Zen, not in the use of music or the purposes of that usage.

Zen meditation virtually never includes music unless in the form of traditional liturgies and chants.

Lenz demanded total control over his followers. As a result Lenzians who teach "Buddhism" eventually show their hand by using his methods and materials - one of them being music.

Lenz used music in a particular way - his music. Music and reasons for using that music may help you identify whether a mediatation event is tied to Lenz or a friend is a follower of Frederick Lenz.

Lenz loyalists worship the guy and continue to use his music.

Lenz music is readily available today.

While meditating, his followers usually listen to music that he has
created with his band Zazen. The music is not required, but they all
started out using it and now seem to be hooked. It's very soothing
music, and if you live in a noisy place it blocks out extraneous
noise. Lenz claims his music also blocks out other peoples auras,
which are so prevalent on this over-populated planet that no one can
meditate as well as they used to (like back in the good old days of
Japan and Tibet). He calls other peoples thoughts "psychic pollution"
and claims to be highly sensitive to it. He's always whining about how
hard it is for him to be so telepathic.

Another purpose of meditation is to "gain energy". "The more you
meditate, the more 'Energy' you will accumulate." Everyone in the
group is encouraged to meditate as often and as intensely as possible
(minimum of twice a day). Most of them enjoy it and will have nothing
bad to say about it. It can be one of the few profoundly individual
and joyous experiences that his students ever have. The only problem
is that most of them associate this personal experience not with their
own "connection to God" but with "Rama" and "his energy".

(The entire article is very interesting, here is the comment about Lenz use of music)

Quote

Lenz agreed with the basic idea of ‘The Force’ from the Star Wars films, and described people who disagreed with him as having "fallen to the Dark Side." According to Mark Laxer, Lenz told him that "Star Wars creator George Lucas was wrong to portray Yoda as being gay." I must have missed that Star Wars spin-off.

He recommended the use of music to assist in meditation, especially the Zazen, a group whose records he produced. During the life of the band, Zazen churned out 21 albums. This is their single ‘What is Dancing?’ from the album ‘Techno Zen Master’.

Much of his teachings, focused around the computer industry and a large majority of his students worked in software development. In 1994 he formed four software companies with his students. By 1997, he was recommending that his students found Internet companies, which led to the founding of Funwomen.com, a softcore website on which his female students posed nude.

A former student of Lenz described how Lenz encouraged male students to subscribe to this exploitation website.

As the person who originally posted those messages years ago about that long-defunct website (funwomen.com), I have noted with interest the renewed discussions about that website in particular and about Lenz' teachings in general on the Web recently. It appears that there is a new recruiting drive going on and this is resulting in renewed concern among cult watchers.

I should probably clarify that at various points, some women have claimed to me that no female students of Lenz ever posed on that site or ever would consider doing so. Some of the women who posed did look familiar, but I didn't know them well and wasn't subscribed to the site for long. So it is always possible that I was wrong and should apologize for claiming that the women posed nude--it remains possible that female models from outside the group were used.

What I know for sure, though, is that in 1997 Lenz encouraged his students to start online businesses, saying the startup costs were low. Not long thereafter, a female disciple of Lenz started that website featuring softcore porn models. Might she have used models from outside the group? Possible. But there is no doubt that the porn site was run by a long term female disciple of Lenz and portrayed women in a way very different from the official Lenz teachings about empowering women. And I've heard of other things from Lenz that portray a very different attitude towards women from the official version. For example, Lenz would insist that his female students sleep with men in an effort to sell his products, and would praise women for "sleeping their way to the top".

I'd be interested to know how big the current recruiting drive is. My observation was that a lot of his former students stayed loyal to the Lenz organization for a few years after his death. As time went on, though, a lot of people started to develop a more nuanced and less exalted view of Lenz. They began to see that in the long term his influence was less than positive in a lot of ways both personal and financial. I myself have had little contact with the group in recent years, and it has been my impression that only a tiny handful (maybe less than a dozen at this point) former disciples remain blindly loyal. But the ones who remained loyal: yes, they worship him.

In one way Lenz is a genius though. By killing himself when he did, he successfully ensured that to this day he has a multimillion dollar foundation in his name. Had he not killed himself, I think it likely he would have had a very different outcome: by now he would quite possibly have gone the way of Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby. I was told once that this was a very strategic decision on Lenz' part: by killing himself he also killed various pending litigation that otherwise might have destroyed him financially.

Eric Allen Bell and the Gremlins

The same gremlins that have persecuted Eric Allen Bell at his Internet Movie Database page have followed him to his LinkedIn page.
LinkedIn had EAB’s "Bell Media" as the multi-billion dollar, multi-national corporation "Bell Media of Canada" until 2016. [www.youtube.com]

Although there have been improvements, the confusion with "Bell Media of Canada" still remains. [www.linkedin.com]

LinkedIn statistics for Eric’s "Bell Media, Inc" say he employs 78 people. Indeed, one can click the link to “See all 79 employees” for "Bell Media, Inc." All of the names displayed, except for Eric Allen Bell, and one other person, are employees of "Bell Media of Canada".

That is 8 pages of people employed by "Bell Media of Canada" being associated with Eric’s "Bell Media".

Other companies called "Bell Media", or "Bell Productions" have no such confusion with "Bell Media of Canada", or Eric Allen Bell. The different, but similarly named "Bell Media,LLC" based in Alabama, has employees from Alabama. No one is from Canada. And, Eric Allen Bell is not on the list either.

Eric’s LinkedIn page for "Bell Media, Inc." claims to be “producers of online digital media, motion pictures, television and documentaries.” But, we know that "Bell Media" does not do that. Eric told us Bell Media is a loan out company for his ghost writing business. But, there is no mention of media advisor at the "Bell Media, Inc." LinkedIn page, either. Did he forget? It must have been the gremlins, again.

Eric Allen Bell’s only letter of recommendation comes from ACT for America who Eric is currently bad mouthing on his Facebook page. He certainly cannot blame that on the gremlins.

Eric’s sole accomplishment on LinkedIn is his “The High Price of Telling the Truth About Islam”, which at this point is his highly questionable account of Eric Allen Bell’s discovery of the Counter Jihad Movement.

There is similar gremlin activity at Eric’s other two corporations.
Eric’s "Eccentric Cattle Entertainment Inc." is categorized under Cattle Companies. [www.manta.com]

"Fate in Focus" was registered as an Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting and Fishing business. [www.youtube.com] @ 1:42

Leaving the Counter Jihad Movement was a good career move for Eric. Before he left he was broke, blacklisted, and disowned by his family, living in a safe house with a bounty on his head. After he left the CJM, he was driving hundred thousand dollar luxury cars.

How did he turn things around? He does not want to talk about it. That would be a threat to his life.

Jordan Peterson is on a crusade to toughen up young men. It’s landed him on our cultural divide.
By Karen Heller

Quote

Peterson now follows a “ridiculous” diet of meat, salad and water, promoted online by his daughter, with only turmeric and salt for flavor. “Turmeric and salt! Turmeric and salt!” he sings in the middle of Manhattan’s Bryant Park, mocking the entire business with an impromptu jig. The regimen, Peterson says, helped him go off antidepressants, which he once assumed he would take for life, and shed 50 pounds

Jordan Peterson is on a crusade to toughen up young men. It’s landed him on our cultural divide.
By Karen Heller May 2 2018

“I don’t really regard myself as a political figure,” Peterson says, but increasingly he is, embraced by conservatives and the alt-right, and viewed suspiciously by the left. It was politics that launched him to fame last year when he spoke out against a Canadian bill mandating the use of transgender pronouns, which he views as trammeling free speech.

A couple of years ago, Peterson was a respected though far from famous academic when he began posting his lengthy lectures online. Now there are hours and hours of his talks and interviews on YouTube, a viral Encyclopedia Jordanica with more than a million subscribers. Some of his video lectures clock in at 180 minutes with generous servings of biblical stories (but only for their moral teachings; Peterson abandoned organized religion as a teen) as well as Nietzsche, Dostoevsky, Solzhenitsyn and his hero, Jung. Even the least popular talks of recent months have racked up more than 100,000 views.

Quote

Peterson elicits nearly every opinion except indifference. “The most influential public intellectual in the Western world right now,” wrote David Brooks in the New York Times, calling him “a young William F. Buckley.” Critics, and there are plenty, raise serious doubts.

“He takes a really simplistic approach toward gender inequality. It feels like a dressed-up version of misogyny,” says Gary Barker, a developmental psychologist who has studied ways to promote gender equality and violence prevention. “The scary part is it doesn’t provoke men to be better but to live with this inequality and get what you can out of it.”

Peterson rails against victimhood and “radical left-wing identity politics.” He’s an opponent of regulated equality and a skeptic of the notion of male or white “privilege.” Like many thought leaders who flirted with socialism in their youth, Peterson crusades against anything that he thinks smacks of Marxist tendencies and groupthink, which means a lot of inveighing against “postmodernist” scholars, who are probably a bigger nuisance at faculty confabs than in the lives of his fans.

His combative nature and mastery of video has proved to be catnip for extremely online young men. An interview with British broadcaster Cathy Newman

in which the two clashed on topics such as the gender pay gap, has been viewed more than 9 million times. (After Newman endured a hailstorm of misogynistic abuse on social media, Peterson cautioned his Twitter followers (now 642,000 strong) to “be civilized in your criticism. It was words. Words, people, words. Remember those?”)

"Free Meditation""Female Empowerment" - Watch out

Just because adverts read "Female Empowerment" or women's empowerment
doesnt mean you will become empowered.

A cult whose pudgy male leader (Keith Raniere) sits in jail, with a beautiful actress also being charged as an accessory recruited through promises of feminist solidarity and female empowerment.

How did this twisted 'sex cult guru' brainwash some of America's most privileged actresses, models and heiresses?

Quote

Playing on the feminist values of stars including Emma Watson and singer Kelly Clarkson, 35-year-old Mack was wildly enthusiastic about a 'human development and women's movement' that had done so much for her own personal growth.

'As a fellow actress, I can relate so well to your vision and what you want to see in the world,' Mack gushed in a tweet to Emma Watson.

Neither the Harry Potter star nor Clarkson took up the offer — so were spared what could have been a deeply unpleasant experience.

As is now being laid bare in a New York court case that is transfixing America, Allison Mack was allegedly the chief recruiter for a sex slave cult.

Far from gathering for earnest debates on female empowerment, members were allegedly expected not only to have sex with their female 'masters' and a male 'grandmaster', but even to help brand each other with their leader's initials in a horrific act of mutilation.

In an era of the #MeToo movement and a fierce backlash against predatory men, the idea that attractive young women — including well-known actresses, models and billionaire heiresses — could willingly become sexual chattels has stunned America.

Allison Mack has been charged with sex trafficking. She is on $5 million (£3.7 m) bail and under house arrest.

"Christine" felt horrified after the November 2016 US Presidential election. She wanted to go to India and do a retreat at an ashram. Turned out to be Nithyananda's ashram.

(Excerpt)

Christine’s Story

Like thousands of Americans, Christine wanted to go to an Indian ashram, live in the presence of a guru, do a lot of yoga, and eat an ayurvedic diet. In the fall of 2016 she paid a lot of money to do just that — a whopping $13,000. (She later learned there was a much lower price for the Indian attendees.)

(Corboy note: This two tiered pricing goes on all over India - gouge the visitors and run guilt trips on them. Thanks to the centuries of glamorous myths about India, tourists put up with exploitation they'd not tolerate one second at home)

In early December she flew around the world to Bengaluru Adheenam, India, to attend a 21-day retreat at the ashram of Paramahamsa Nithyananda. She hadn’t done any research before choosing her venue (much like many Americas who head to India to meet “gurus,” I assume).

Almost immediately, she was second-guessing her impulsive decision. Within several days of arriving she realized she’d made a big mistake. By the second week, she was determined to leave, but faced significant resistance from the people running the ashram. One day at her hotel she decided to finally research the guru. That’s when she learned the truth about the so-called holy man, including a long history of alleged sexual assault of children and adults, an arrest, and an upcoming trial.

“I knew I was in the wrong place IMMEDIATELY, but had paid a ghastly amount to be there, so I tried to make the best of it at first. Also, a friend of mine was there and seemed to be enjoying it. So, I wanted to stay with him.”

“We were kept at the ashram sometimes 18 hours a day. It was a one-hour bus trip each way to get to the hotel. We got almost no sleep.”
